A personal theory by @EXGAIDEN
THE SCORNED SCHOOL FRIEND
Tekken 8's latest character, Reina, draped in the legacy of the formidable Mishima clan, has the gaming world buzzing with theories. My personal hunch? She might be tangled up not just with the Mishimas but possibly with the Kazama family and even the Xiaoyu dynasty. The resemblance to Miharu Hirano is uncanny, especially with Reina's moves mirroring those of Asuka and Ling Xiaoyu.
This revelation hit me during a classic Tekken standoff: Kazuya, bewildered, asking Reina, "Who the hell are you?" It's a question echoing in the minds of players familiar with the series. Even more intriguing is Reina's unique interaction with Jin, where she calls him "Senpai," suggesting a noteable past.
Now, let's talk about Miharu, who started as a palette swap for Ling in Tekken 4 and evolved into a more distinctive character in Tag 2. The subtle nods to Ling's style in Reina's moves are a breadcrumb trail leading back to Miharu. But wait, there's more. Remember those ghost battles featuring Miharu Hirano with Asuka's moveset in T5DR? And the fact that Miharu and Jin were schoolmates? Could Reina's "Senpai" reference be a hint at a deeper connection, perhaps a transformation of Miharu under the tutelage of Heihachi Mishima himself? Perhaps a once sweet pupil of the Mishima Zaibaitu, has been corrupted and trained by Heihachi himself?
THE SECRET GRANDDAUGHTER
But hold on, let's not get too carried away with the dramatics. There's another angle to consider. Could Reina be the secret second child of Jun and Kazuya? Imagine this: Jin, recognizing something familiar in Reina but unable to pinpoint it, faced with the reality of a sister whose strength is a revelation to him. Or, and here's where things get really juicy, could it be that Heihachi, in his endless quest for power and control, found a new protégé in Reina after Jun vanished?
THE EXPECTED
As tantalizing as these theories are, we must admit they border on the melodramatic twists typical of a daytime soap opera. It might all boil down to something far simpler and more predictable: good ol' Heihachi, once again unable to resist... well, let's just say his notorious impulsiveness. In the world of Tekken, where the line between the plausible and the absurd is delightfully blurred, these theories are what keep us guessing and the game endlessly intriguing.
